Congratulations to senior Clinician and co-Director Nicholas Ryan who along with Footlab+ consultant Podiatric Surgeon Simon Smith have recently authored a chapter on the surgical correction of mallet toe (a type of hammertoe which is a form of digital deformity) “Primary Mallet Toe Corrections”.

The chapter forms part of a surgical manual entitled “Hammertoes” that will likely be utilised by foot and ankle surgeons around the world, and will be considered essential reading for surgical registrars in the area of foot and ankle surgery. The mallet toe chapter incorporates an extensive literature review and exploration of the biomechanical and structural causes of mallet toe pathologies along with the various surgical approaches to correcting such presentations.
